Dubai, UAE – India have reached the final of the Asia Cup 2025, and they did so with a magnificent performance. Under the dazzling lights of Dubai, the Blue Army secured a comprehensive victory by defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs, extending their winning streak and strengthening their claim for the title.
But this night truly belonged to Abhishek Sharma. The young opener’s fearless innings electrified the stadium and laid the foundation for India’s victory. His brilliant performance, combined with a superb bowling performance, ensured India secured their place in the championship match without much effort.
Abhishek Sharma Steals the Show
Asked to bat first, Abhishek wasted no time in showing his intent. The left-hander was in a mood to destroy, hammering a sensational 75 off just 37 balls. His innings was a mix of elegance and brute power — six boundaries and five massive sixes had the crowd on their feet.
Shubman Gill gave him solid company during a 77-run opening stand, chipping in with 29. For a while, India looked set to cross 180 with ease. But Bangladesh fought back through Rishad Hossain (2/27), who slowed things down in the middle overs. Just when the innings seemed to lose momentum, Hardik Pandya’s crucial 38 injected life back into the scorecard. India ended with a competitive 168 — more than enough given the conditions.
Bowlers Apply the Choke
Chasing 169 in a knockout-like contest was always going to test Bangladesh. Saif Hassan stood tall with a fighting 69 off 51, but he was left stranded without support. The Indian bowlers were simply too good on the night.
Kuldeep Yadav was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 18 runs. Varun Chakravarthy bowled brilliantly from the other end. Every time Bangladesh tried to build a partnership, India would get a wicket. And when it came to finishing the match, Jasprit Bumrah did what he does best – taking the last wicket with his accurate bowling.
Bangladesh eventually folded for 127, handing India a 41-run win and a well-deserved ticket to the Asia Cup final.
