The Asian Games 2023 are witnessing the splendid performance of Indian athletes. India has bagged 31 medals till now, including a gold in women’s cricket. Inspired by the Indian women, the men’s team is also ready to shine.

The young stars of Team India have arrived in China, where the men’s cricket event began on 27th September. The Indian team is the centre of attention now, with Ruturaj Gaikwad leading them. Let’s find out when Team India will play their first match here.

Straight into quarter finals on 3rd October

Team India will kick off their Asian Games journey with a quarter-final match on October 3. The Indian team has earned the opportunity to play the quarter finals directly based on their ranking.

Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are the other teams who have qualified directly for the quarter-finals. The opponent of the Indian team is not yet confirmed, as it will depend on the winners of the group stage matches.

Final on 7th October

The first quarter-final will feature the Indian team, while the second quarter-final will have the Pakistan team on the same day. Sri Lanka will play in the third quarter-final match on October 4 and Bangladesh will play in the fourth quarter-final match on the same day.

The semi-finals will be held on 6 October, followed by the third-place playoff on 7 October. The final match will be held on the same day at 11.30 am. The gold or silver medalist will be decided on October 7.
