Tamil Nadu Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said in a conference that it is necessary to eradicate Sanatana Dharma. He compared Sanatana Dharma to diseases like malaria and dengue. He said that there are some things which cannot be eradicated only by protesting, they have to be uprooted.
There was an uproar on social media over Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement. Many people criticized him for this statement, while some also posted in his support.
Stalin later clarified his statement and said that he did not call for genocide of those following Sanatan Dharma. He said that Sanatan Dharma is a principle which divides people in the name of caste and religion. To uproot Sanatan Dharma is to maintain humanity and equality.
